In September of 2011, the Lion’s Den moved into the the Wilma Theater as a temporary venue for Sunday services. In the months there, we saw light break through the darkness of downtown Missoula. We saw people come to church who either have never set foot inside a sanctuary before, or haven’t given church a second thought since they were kids. Most importantly, we saw lives changed. And although the Wilma was a great place for our unique, rock and roll worship, and although the staff at the Wilma went above and beyond to make us feel at home, we came to the realization that it was time to find a different venue. Partially because of the expenses that came along with renting the theater, and partially in order to find a venue that was a little more family-friendly. It was also tough not being able to have a place where we could hold classes, men’s breakfasts, or potlucks throughout the week. So we began looking for another venue, and we found that Valley Christian School was open, and excited to have us use their gymnasium on Sunday mornings. In addition to the gymnasium, there are two classrooms that we can use for Sunday School, as well as classes and Bible studies throughout the week, and a cafeteria that can be used for breakfasts, and potlucks. The administration at Valley has been very welcoming, and accommodating, and by switching to this building, we have considerably cut down our monthly expenses. Of course, our ultimate goal is to one day be able to afford to buy our own location and settle down for good, but until that time, we are following God’s direction as He leads, knowing that the heart and soul of the Lion’s Den is to make God glorified in Missoula, and to work together as a family as we build up each other, and the world around us.

Our mission is to inspire believers to change the world around them in two ways. We encourage them to DISCOVER God, His character, and His plan and purpose for our lives. We do that by encouraging them to plug into their church, small groups, Bible studies, etc., on a weekly basis to build the foundation of their faith. Then we encourage them to SHARE God, His character, and His plan and purpose, not only for our lives, but for the lives of everyone around us. We do that through prayer, kindness, volunteering, and reaching out to the people in our communities. We want to see the name of I AM spread throughout the world, one community at a time.
